Sorry about the very low activity on the website but I have personally been very busy senior year. If we get the chance to, we will revamp the tech club site for the upcoming freshman to use and post information without dealing with all the webmastering tasks.

The next and last two LAN's of the year will be April 4th and May 23rd. These dates will NOT change and if there is any school closing there will be no raindates.

Same routine information, with a new pricing. Prepay is too resource consuming to continue, and we've had too many problems with it. So all the LAN's will now just be a set dollar amount at the door, no possibility of prepay.

$7 at the door for everyone
4/4, and 5/23 at Voorhees High School

Cash Prizes

New games include COD4 tournament and a Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournament.

We're buying a dozen power strips so we don't run out like last time. These LAN's are going to be big so don't miss out. The

Hey everyone,
Hope you had an awesome summer! The Tech Club is back in action and we have already have our preliminary date set for October 5th in the main cafe. We jumped from the 5th to the 12th and now back to the 5th because the cafe is taken on the 12th for a tricky tray and the homecoming football game is the Friday after that. So it will be during a home football game, but we wont try to compete with the homecoming game on the 19th.

Halo 3 will be the main game attraction so make sure you pre-order! We gave some time in between so if your pre-order was delayed, you should have it by the 5th. Also, the first LAN of the year will be FREE entrance. Freshman and others that don't have the permission form signed and handed in must do so to enter. Names and permission will be checked at the door. Those who are over 17 can provide proof at the door to avoid the required permission form.

Some other basic info:
Friday October 5th
Main Cafeteria
4-10pm
Free entrance

Backpack Portable Xbox Station

After researching the costs of creating a battery system for either the regular xbox or 360, plus a 17" LCD, I have found that it would be too expensive to create a battery based portable system. The DC-DC power supply for the xbox alone would cost ~100, excluding the batteries.

I have revised the project basis for a retractable power cable that would sit inside the backpack. This would also allow for the use of external speakers instead of crappy ones on the lcd panel. Cheap external speakers will either be free or like $10.

Here is the official price list for the parts of the portable xbox station project:
• Used Backpack with bottom compartment to fit xbox – Free if donated, or $30-50 ebay

• Used 15-17” DC LCD w/ speakers - ~$60-80 ebay
• Power strip + Cheap external speakers and audio cable adapter $10
• Retractable power cable 15-25’ long, $40

The Last LAN was a great way to end the year. We had around 90 attendees and over $300 in prizes. We look forward to next year for games such as Halo 3, Unreal 3, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Crysis and more. We will also be focusing on more tech related projects in the club. Please think of some ideas over the summer so we can get started right when we get back. Some suggestions were remote controlled machine of some sort, SMS texting service for school clubs, RF jammer, paint ball motion sensing auto-targeting turret.
Please comment with your suggestions.

Have a great summer!
